Dwight Anderson Obituary

Dwight Allen Anderson, 74, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in the J.A. Wedum Hospice Residence in Brooklyn Park, MN after a valiant fight to regain his strength following a surgery in early November 2023.

Dwight was born to Andy and Myrtle Anderson on March 4, 1949 in Warren, MN. Dwight lived in Warren for the first 37 years of his life. As school was not a high priority, he left after his sophomore year and found his calling becoming the proprietor of the 1-0-1 Mobil Gas Station on March 15, 1969. He was noted as the youngest businessman in Warren. While managing the station, he was an early member of the Warren Volunteer Ambulance Corps and sponsored several bowling teams. He had a camper and a boat and enjoyed fishing trips to Lake of the Woods. He sold the gas station on June 30, 1984. He then worked for Les Howard Farms for two years before beginning a journey from Texas to Colorado, finally settling in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Andy worked for the Mirage Casino managing all the inventory and stocking of the Impulse Shop for 18 years. Upon retirement he got an apartment in Plymouth, MN where he could be closer to family. He had many friends at this apartment building and he was able to enjoy events and holidays with family. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and the great nieces and nephews, and made a point to return often to Warren for visits.

He is survived by his sisters, Chris Ann Abrahamson of Warren, MN and Cheryl Rugland (Rex) of Plymouth, MN; sister-in-law, Sue Tewes of Andover, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Loren Schantzen; and brother-in-law, Loren Abrahamson.

Donations may be made to the J.A. Wedum Hospice residence in Brooklyn Park, MN
