Kenneth “K.C.” Kuznia, 84, of Stephen, MN, died early Sunday morning, February 4, 2024, in North Valley Health Center, Warren, MN, with his loving family at his bedside.
Kenneth Clayton “K.C.” was born on February 23, 1939, in Oslo, MN, the son of Edward and Gertrude (Ginter) Kuznia. He was raised on a farm west of Stephen, attended country school, and graduated from Stephen High School in the Class of 1957. K.C. served in the US Army and then attended NDSU upon his honorable discharge in 1963. He returned to Stephen where he farmed his entire life: first alongside his father, then his son.
K.C. married Sandra Thacker on September 26, 1964. They raised three children, instilling in them a love of family and community. K.C. was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Minnesota and National Wheat Growers Associations, and a Past Commander of the Stephen American Legion. In addition he sat on the Stephen School Board, the Stephen Endowment Fund, and worked diligently on the Stephen Centennial, the Kuznia Reunion, and the All-School Reunions.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 59 years, Sandra Kuznia of Stephen; daughters, Cynthia (Jeff) Czapiewski and Jennifer VanHorn; grandchildren. Angel (Brian) Wadeson, Casey Tripp, Brittany (Wesley) Vert, Breanna (Michaela) Lehman-Czapiewski, Allyson Kuznia (Arlo Baratono), Brandon Kuznia, and Jacob Kuznia; and great-granddaughters, Athena Wadeson and Morgan Vert.
K.C. was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrna Bentley; and son, Joffrey Kenneth Kuznia.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 10:30 AM, in St. Stephen Catholic Church, Stephen, MN.
VISITATION: Wednesday evening, February 7, starting at 5:00 PM in the Church; Rosary at 6:15 PM; Prayer Service at 6:30 PM; and one hour prior to Mass.
INTERMENT: St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery.
MILITARY HONORS: US Army Honor Guard & the Stephen American Legion Post 390.
