Carl Haugen

Carl Haugen, 80, Oslo, MN passed away on Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at his apartment in Stephen, MN.

Carl Elliot Haugen Jr. was born on Sept. 28, 1926 in Bigwoods Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Carl and Selma (Wang) Haugen. He attended Bigwoods Country School and graduated from Oslo Public High School. Carl was in the US Army and served in the Korean War. He attended Hanson's Mechanical School in Moorhead, MN and then returned to the family farm. He married Ivadelle Anderson on June 16, 1957 in Argyle, MN. They made their home in rural Oslo where he farmed.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Carl served on the Oslo School Board, Bigwoods Church Council, Oslo American Legion and the PKM and Minnkota Boards.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 49 years, Ivadelle, two daughters, Karla Bergeron of Harwood, ND and Kim (Mark) Anderson of Stephen, MN, son, Curtis (Lori) Haugen of Argyle, MN,ten grandchildren, Sara and Kelsey Bergeron, Patrick, Jonathan, Eric and Erin Anderson and Alissa, Kallie, Emily and Macy Haugen and sister-in-law, Joyce Haugen of Argyle, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joseph, and Clarence and sisters, Karen and Ruth.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN.
VISITATION: After 4:00 PM with a 6:00 PM prayer service on Monday at the DuBore Funeral Home, Warren, MN and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
INTERMENT: Bigwoods Lutheran Cemetery, Bigwoods Township, Marshall County, MN.
