David Scott Knutson

David Knutson, 24, of Warren, MN, died on Thursday, October 20, 2016, in a car accident on Highway 1, east of Warren.

David Scott Knutson, the son of Scott Knutson and Carrie Ann Linder, was born on October 15, 1992, in Grand Forks, ND. He grew up spending his time between Eden Valley, MN, and Warren, until his family moved to Warren when he was in the 4th grade. He spent all of his high school years working at Dale's Foods, where his friendly disposition meant a smile for anyone who walked through the door. David graduated from WAO High School in 2011, and attended Northland Community College for a year, studying to be a surgical technician.

After David decided that school wasn't for him, he continued to enjoy working with his hands, becoming a skilled machinist at Errico Manufacturing of Viking, MN, in 2013. In his free time he enjoyed working on his car with his father and trying, sometimes in vain, to get his subwoofers working.

After high school, David struggled with some demons in his life, but he always went out of his way to be kind and friendly. He dearly loved his family, being generous with time spent with his three younger brothers and twin sisters. He really enjoyed watching movies, especially superhero ones, and maintained a large collection of them.

In March of 2016, David's life changed forever when he found out he was going to be a father. He turned his life around and began preparing for this new chapter in it. From stockpiling diapers well in advance, to reading books on pregnancy and raising children, David became a devoted father-to-be. His whole world became centered around his unborn baby girl and every day he worked with her future in mind. In addition to bringing about a new life, David is also credited with saving the life of his fiancée, Mackenzie, by his unending support and telling her he loved her every chance he got.

He will be remembered by those who knew him as a hard worker, a devoted son and brother, and a kind and compassionate man who was taken from us too soon.

David is survived by his unborn daughter, Aspen, who is due on this November; fiancée, Mackenzie Harstad; father, Scott (Tammy) Knutson; mother, Carrie Ann Linder (fiance, Kenneth Lubarski); siblings, Danielle and Desirae Hofer, and Dawson, Dustin, and Derek Moehrle, all of Warren; grandmothers, Jeanette Knutson, Henrietta Linder, and Kathryn Hettervig; great-grandmothers, Nettie Kuznia and Delores Linder; aunts and uncles, Brian Knutson, Trevis (Amy) Knutson, Brenda Donarski, Sherrie Johnson, Tina Knutson, Jerry Linder, Justin (Jenna) Linder, Angie (Jeremy) Thornton, Robert (Roberta) Hettervig, and Steph Knutson; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Allen Knutson, David Linder, and Chris Hettervig; uncle, Jerry Kuznia; and great-grandparents, Florian Kuznia, Frances Novak, and Muriel Meland.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 10:30 AM, in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Warren, MN.

Visitation: One hour prior to Mass.

Interment: Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
