Donald "Don" E. Bergman

Don Bergman, 85, of Warren, MN, was called home to his Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at his home in North Star Assisted Living, Warren.

Donald Eugene was born on August 25, 1931, in Oslo, MN, to Theodore and Evelyn (Narveson) Bergman. He spent his childhood in Alvarado, MN, attending North Star Country School and Alvarado Public School. He was married to Margaret Ellen Pinkerton on September 2, 1955, and together were blessed with one daughter.

Don worked for a short time in Anaheim, CA, before moving to Minneapolis, MN, where he started working with Coast to Coast Hardware. He was very active in the local Jaycee’s Organization and played in several softball leagues. In 1977, he moved back to the Warren area, where he became the proud and successful owner of Cactus Lanes for twenty plus years before retiring.

Don was an outgoing man with an unmistakable laugh, who loved people. In his spare time he loved to golf, play cards, watch sports, and take drives in the country.

Left to mourn his passing are his daughter Kim (Jeff) Propp of Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Chudada, Jason (Paulina) Propp, Brian (Alley) Propp, Jonathan Propp, and Tyler Propp; one great-grandson, Joseph Chudada; sister, Betty (Robert) Gowan, of Minot, ND; and many special nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by Margaret; his parents, Theodore and Evelyn; a sister, Lois Gould; brothers, Kenneth, Orvis, and Robert Bergman; and an infant great-grandson, James.

His family would like to thank the staff at North Star Assisted Living for their loving care and support.

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 1:30 PM, in New Hope Lutheran Church, Alvarado, MN; with visitation one hour prior.

Interment: Elim Lutheran Cemetery, Alvarado.
