Doris Aase

March 19, 1934 ~ January 14, 2014 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Doris Aase passed away on January 14th, 2014 at the Thief River Care Center with her daughter by her side.

Doris Fern Becker was born March 19th, 1934 in Moylan Township, Marshall County to Dorothy and Henry Becker. She grew up on a farm north of Goodridge. She graduated from Goodridge High School in 1952.

On August 19th, 1953, she married Melvin Aase in Quincy, Colorado. They farmed north of Warren and in 1969 they moved into Warren. They sold their home in 2002. Melvin passed away in August of 2003. Doris continued to live in Warren until moving to the Thief River Care Center in March of 2011.

Doris always loved to cook, bake, and sew. During her time at the Thief River Care Center, Doris was very involved in sewing. She made rugs and hand-embroidered dish towels.

Doris is survived by her daughter Michelle (Richard) Kuzel, Tabor, MN; grandchildren: Jennifer Kuzel (Eric Nater), Coon Rapids, MN and Steven Kuzel, Moorhead, MN; brother: Vernon (Florence) Becker, Fargo, ND; sister-in-laws: Donna Becker, Wichita, KS, Ellen Aase, Grand Forks, ND, and Elaine Myrfield, Warren, MN; many nieces and nephews; and friend, Nick Stengl, Denver, CO.

She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin; infant son; parents; brother Harald Becker: brother-in-laws: Selvin Aase and Wallace Aase, sister-in-law: Gladys Aase, nephew: Gene Becker, nieces: Kathy Kurz, Wynn Stjern, Ruby Becker, and Roberta Stengl.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren with a visitation 1 hour prior to services.

VISITATION: 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 17th, 2014 with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service at the DuBore Funeral Home in Warren.

INTERMENT: McCrea Cemetery, rural Warren.
