Ervin Morken

Ervin Morken, 95, of rural Warren, MN, passed away early Thursday morning, July 28, 2016 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Ervin Lowell Morken was born on June 19, 1921 in Hitterdal, MN, the son of Albert and Laura (Potter) Morken. He lived on the family farm until he was 12 or 13 when he moved to Hawkins, WI to live with his uncle and aunt Paul and Agnes (Potter) Perry where he was raised until he was an adult. On July 2, 1944, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Johnson. They lived several places including Kenna, WI where they owned a gas station and Minneapolis, MN before buying a farm by Radium, MN in 1949. Ervin and Marjorie lived in South St. Paul, MN where Ervin worked at Ford Motors delivering cars and at the airport before moving back to the farm in 1954. Ervin farmed and worked at American Crystal in Crookston, MN. They spent many winters in Arizona. Marjorie died on May 22, 2002.

He enjoyed fishing at Lake of the Woods, hunting and mowing the lawn.

Left to mourn his passing are his two sons, Lyle (Sheryl) Morken of Springbrook, ND and Paul (Linda) Morken of Warren, MN; three grandchildren, Jason Morken of Warren, MN, Alesha (Chris) Oster of Ray, ND and Lisa Morken of Williston, ND, two great-grandchildren, Ava and Jackson Oster and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death his parents, Albert and Laura; aunt and uncle, Paul and Agnes; wife, Marjorie; brothers, Clinton Morken, Oris (Ethel) Morken and Leo (Lee) Morken and sisters, Clarice (LeRoy) Prestegard, Adeline (Leonard) Burtness and Verne (Garfield) Hilde.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.

VISITATION: One hour before services at the church.

INTERMENT: Comstock Cemetery, Comstock Township, Marshall County, MN
