Florence Ann Kuznia

Florence Kuznia, 90, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2016, surrounded by her family, in the Good Samaritan Home, Bismarck, ND, where she had resided the last several years.

Florence Ann Urbaniak was born on October 3, 1926, on the family farm in Wanger Township, rural Argyle, MN, to Joseph and Vernie (Yutrzenka) Urbaniak. She was raised on the farm, attended country school, and graduated from high school at the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN. After graduation, she lived and worked in Stephen, MN, where she met Harry J. Kuznia.

The young couple were united in marriage on October 3, 1951, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in rural Argyle, and they made their home in Warren, where they raised their two children.

Florence and Harry owned and operated the Kuznia Hartz store in Warren, side by side, for 38 years, all the while being very active in the community. Florence was a member of the Warren Hospital and American Legion Auxiliary, frequently volunteered at her church, and was named the Marshall County Social Services Volunteer of the Year many times. Harry passed away on February 4, 1988.  Florence continued to live in Warren before moving to Bismarck in 2011, to be closer to family after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Florence is survived by her children, Ann (Frank) Palm of Fargo, ND, and Jim (Tracy) Kuznia of Bismarck; grandsons, Nathan, Philip (Ginger), Tim (Alicia), and Scott Palm; granddaughters, Paige and Melissa Kuznia; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dennis Stainbrook of Crookston; and sisters-in-law, Elsie Kuznia of Crookston, and Dorothy Urbaniak of Warren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; an infant daughter; brothers, John, Stanley, and Tom; and sisters, Lucille Krolak, Alvina Tulibaski, Regina McKenney, and Agnes and Margaret Urbaniak.

The family prefers that memorials be made to a charity of your choosing in memory of Florence.

Visitation: Monday, November 21, 2016, from 5-7:00 PM, in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Warren, MN, with a Rosary at 6:45, followed by a prayer Service at 7:00 PM; and one hour prior to Mass.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, November 22, at 10:30 AM, in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Warren.

Interment: Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Warren, MN.
