Gary Paul Bergeron

Gary Bergeron, 74, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Saturday January 9, 2016 peacefully at his home in Argyle.

Gary Paul Bergeron was born October 9, 1941 in Warren, MN, the son of LeRoy and Katherine (Stoltman) Bergeron. He was raised in Argyle where he attended grade school at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and Argyle High School. He graduated from High School in 1960. On February 27, 1960 he married Colleen Knutson at St. Rose Catholic Church. They moved to Minneapolis, MN where Gary worked at the airport. They returned to Argyle in 1965 to raise their children and continue the farming life, which he loved. Gary was a farmer for his entire life and continued to farm in his retirement. His joy was watching the seed grow into a fruitful crop. Whether it was his crop or a crop he planted for someone else, he poured his whole self into making sure it became fruitful and bountiful.

Gary enjoyed football, hunting, fishing and carpentry. He loved telling silly jokes and retelling the same jokes, while laughing at himself. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and life at the lake with his family. He spent the last 20 years at Little Toad Lake in Frazee, MN where his presence will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Colleen Bergeron; five children, Shannon (Terry) Henrickson, Jackie Bergeron, Jason (Brenda) Bergeron, Michelle (Lynn) Bell and Cale (Tianna) Bergeron; eight grandchildren, Taryn Simmons, Bryce Henrickson, Maddilynn Bell, Logan Bergeron, Alexandra Bergeron, Grace Bell, Odin Bergeron and Adeline Petron; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Simmons; sister, Mary Kay Saturley; sister-in-law, Gayle Bergeron; nephews, John (Sherri) Saturley and Brandon Bergeron and several other close friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Baby Marie Bergeron, parents LeRoy and Katherine Bergeron, his brother Donald Bergeron, and his brother-in-law John Saturley.

Visitation: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Rosary and 6:45 PM Prayer Service on Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle and one hour before services at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 AM on Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN.

Interment: St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle, MN
