Gary A. Grega

Gary Grega, 69, of Houston, TX, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston.

Gary Andrew Grega was born on November 13, 1946 in Warren, MN, the son of Andrew “Andy” and Mildred “Millie“ (Listiak) Grega. He lived on a farm near Angus, MN with his family where he was raised in the Lutheran faith. Gary attended school in Angus and Warren before graduating from high school from the Crookston AC in 1964. He married Sara Andersen on May 14, 1974. Gary served in the US Navy for 20 years until his discharge in 1985. After his discharge, he worked for HRB Singer and Makica Incorporated.

He was a member of the American Legion and Fleet Reserve Association. Gary had visited The Lone Sailor and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Gary (Jennifer) Grega of Philadelphia, PA, Kristen Cramer of Mystic, CT and Julie (Jim) Knauss of Kent, WA; four grandchildren, Sophia Grega, Ryan Grega, Brandon Knauss and Ethan Knauss; siblings, Dale Grega of Angus, MN, Richard (Roswitha) Grega of Warren, MN and Bette (Randy) Swanson of Warren, MN and former wife, Sara Grega of Philadelphia, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom Grega and nephew, Ryan Swanson.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on
Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM, in Greenwood Cemetery, Warren.
Lunch to follow, for his family and friends, at Melody's Café, Warren, MN.
