Gladys Kvamme

Gladys J. Kvamme, 90, of Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Gladys Jeanette was born on December 7, 1924, to Edward and Gelina (Sanden) Winjum, in Charlson, ND. She was raised in Sanish and New Town, before moving to Mekinock, ND. Gladys was married to Andie Kvamme on December 9, 1942, in Abilene, TX. The Kvamme family made their home, over the years, in Grand Forks, ND, as well as Viking, MN.

Gladys raised twelve children (eleven girls and one boy) and loved all children. She also loved caring for her daughter with special needs, JoAnn, family gatherings, crocheting, cross stitching, reading, and watching “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Waltons.” She was well-known for her hamburger hotdish and homemade baked bread.

Gladys is survived by her son, Arlen Kvamme; nine daughters, Anita (Archie) Skadsem of Newfolden, MN, Evonne Sierra of Warren, MN, Gayle Kvamme of Grand Forks, ND, Shirley (Steve) Neuschwander of Grygla, MN, Arlene (Richard) Mosher of Grygla, MN, Glorian Dodge of Grand Forks, ND, Kristine (Gary) Satre of Grygla, MN, JoAnn Kvamme of Warren, MN, and Kimberly (Bob) Kvasager of Manvel, ND; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, who passed away on June 9, 1988, Gladys was preceded in death by daughters, Geraldine (Ron) Weaver and Susan; a great-granddaughter, Destiny Weaver; brothers, Oren, Ernest, and Johnny Winjum; and sister, Ruth Wasylow.

Visitation: One hour prior to service.
Funeral Service: Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 10:30 AM, in DuBore Funeral Home, Warren, MN.
Interment: Saturday, at 2:00 PM, in Memorial Park South, Grand Forks, ND.

Lunch will be served at Melody's Cafe in Warren after the funeral.
