H. Willis "Butch" Jadeke

H. Willis “Butch” Jadeke, age 88 of Thief River Falls, MN, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away June 1, 2017, at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls where he had lived for the past 2 years.

Butch was born on July 13, 1928 to Herman and Rose (Schultz) Jadeke. He grew up on the family farm in Brislet Township and attended the Groove Side #205 country school. After completing the 8th grade, Butch began his career as a farmer, growing small grains, corn, sugar beets, and raising beef cattle. Butch farmed for many years with his brother Ed, together receiving the Master Farmer award in 1978. On October 25th, 1961, he was united in marriage to Mary Miscik, they lived in rural Warren raising their family and farming. Mary passed away in 2005. Willis loved to hunt and trap, often spending many hours digging out skunks. Butch served on the Brislet Township Town Board for many years, and was a member of the Eagles Club in Crookston. On Sunday’s Butch enjoyed a drive through the countryside looking at crops and listening to Polka Party on the radio. Later in life, Butch invested in dance lessons, doing the polka across the yard to feed the cows became part of his daily routine. In 2007 Butch moved off the farm to the Greenleaf Assisted Living Center in Thief River Falls. He could often be found at the casino, playing nickel machines.

Left to mourn his passing are his children Sue (Noel) Shirek of Thompson, ND, Kevin (Karen) Jadeke of Mentor, MN, Brian (Stephanie) Jadeke of Warren, and Scott (Andrea) Jadeke of Eau Claire, WI; brother Warren Jadeke of Warren, MN; grandchildren, Kelly Rotar, John Kuntz, Sarah, Amy, & Erin Shirek, Kashia Landsrud, Kori, Kyle & Katelyn Jadeke, Aaron & Britney Johnson, Cooper & Bryton Jadeke, Leah & Kristen Jadeke; great grandchildren, Anna, Olivia, Jimmy, Trevor, Dalton, Vincent, & Everett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Martha Ostlund and Evelyn Thompson; brothers Edward Jadeke and Clarence “Tod” Jadeke.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church in Warren, MN.

VISITATION: 5:00 –7:00 PM on Sunday at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren and one hour before services at the church on Monday.

INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN
