James Nicholls

James “Jim” Nicholls, 90, of Warren, MN, formerly of rural Argyle, MN, passed away on February 1, 2017 at the North Valley Health Center in Warren.

James Edward Nicholls was born on March 31, 1926 in Warren, the son of Noble and Eva (Leibold) Nicholls. He was raised in the Warren and Argyle area where he attended Cook School, Warren High School and Crookston Agricultural School. On June 21, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Lerud. They made their home in McCrea Township before moving to Alma Township where he farmed. They moved to Warren in December of 2005.

Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He especially loved to visit with family and friends.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Mary Ann; five children, Kim Vidal of Lincoln, NE, Jamie (Dennis) Erickson of Lincoln, NE, Jon Nicholls of Kapolei, HI, Wendy (Scott) Monkman of Salol, MN and Nancy (Harry) Harnett of Birmingham, AL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Gwen Morris and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Eva; five sisters, Lorna, Vivian, Irene, Iola and Daphine; two brothers, Roland and Robert and grandson, Joel Erickson.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.

Visitation: One hour before service at the church.

Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
