JoAnn Kvamme

JoAnn Kvamme, 52, of Warren, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 25, 2017, in Altru Hospital Grand Forks, ND.

JoAnn was born on February 2, 1965, in Grand Forks, ND, the second youngest of twelve children born to Andie and Gladys (Winjum) Kvamme. She spent her early years in Viking, MN, before the family moved into Grand Forks, where Joann graduated from Valley Junior High School.

JoAnn lived at home most of her life, but kept very busy outside of it. She worked many small jobs through Agassiz Enterprises, including Burger King, during the day. On Friday nights, JoAnn loved to attend dances put on by the L.I.S.T.E.N. Center and show off her moves. She enjoyed visiting and making friends, and she even had a few “boyfriends” over the years who made great dance partners. In 2011, JoAnn moved to Warren with her mother, where she enjoyed working at the ODC, riding her bike, and singing songs; the last two usually done at the same time. For the last several years she had attended Church of Christ in Grand Forks.

Among her favorite hobbies were shuffling and rearranging cards, cutting up and reorganizing newspaper pieces, doing puzzles, coloring, dancing, building with Mega Bloks, listening to music, holding up rabbit ears and laughing, and giving hugs. JoAnn will be remembered for her quotes: “Don't touch me!” “Be Happy!” “You have an attitude.” “It'll be okay!” “Be nice!” “Oh, you're sweet.” “Hulk Hogan!!” and “Hubba Hubba!,” her friendly personality, her love of dogs, and the soft spot she had in her heart for all babies.

She is survived by her brother, Arlen Kvamme; eight sisters, Anita (Archie) Skadsem of Newfolden, MN, Evonne Sierra of Warren, MN, Gayle Kvamme of Grand Forks, ND, Shirley (Steve) Neuschwander of Grygla, MN, Arlene (Richard) Mosher of Grygla, MN, Glorian Dodge of Grand Forks, ND, Kristine (Gary) Satre of Grygla, MN, and Kimberly (Bob) Kvasager of Manvel, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Andie and Gladys; and sisters, Geraldine and Susan.

Funeral Service: Friday, June 30, 2017, at 10:30 AM, in DuBore Funeral Home Chapel, Warren, MN.
Visitation: One hour prior to services.
Graveside Service: Friday, at 2:00 PM, in Memorial Park South, Grand Forks, ND.
