Kenneth "Kenny" Paulson

Kenneth “Kenny” Paulson, 78, formerly of Oslo, MN, and presently of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Sunday evening, January 29, 2017 with his family by his side.

Kenneth Lee Paulson was born on June 10, 1938 in Drayton, ND, the son of George and Florence (Haugen) Paulson. He was raised on the family farm north of Oslo and he graduated from Oslo High School. Kenny was in the National Guard from 1957 – 1963. On September 28, 1963, he was united in marriage to Arlene Hallin at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN. They made their home on the family farm north of Oslo where Kenny and Arlene farmed. For the first seven years of marriage, they spent their winters in California, Kenny working as a machinist. They moved to East Grand Forks in 2009.

He was a member of Bigwoods Lutheran Church where he was past member of the church council, past president of AAL, and a former board member of Bigwoods Lutheran Cemetery.

Kenny enjoyed taking kids in parades with his Bigwoods train and he took great pride in the building of the miniature Bigwoods Lutheran Church with Carl Haugen. He enjoyed traveling with Arlene to all 50 States, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Africa and several cruises. Kenny and Arlene loved traveling with their family with the latest family trip being to Hawaii in March of 2016.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Arlene; two daughters and their husbands, Sherri and Steve Danielson of Grand Forks, ND and Julie and Scott Dvorak of Grand Forks, ND; five grandchildren, Brittany, Kylie, and Brady Dvorak and Shawn and Stephanie Danielson all of Grand Forks, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence Paulson.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: One hour before services at the church.

Interment: 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Bigwoods Lutheran Cemetery, rural Oslo, MN.
