Lewayne Hess

Lewayne “Lee” Hess, 90, of Warren, MN, formerly of Albertville, MN and Minnetonka, MN, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his home at North Star Assisted Living in Warren.

Lewayne Earl Hess was born on January 15, 1926 in Pierre, SD, the son of Ira Earl and Pearl (Watson) Hess.  He spent his early years in Pierre until he moved with his family to Minnesota where he attended school.  Lewayne served in the US Army during the Korean War.  On February 2, 1957, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Micken.  They lived in Minneapolis, Minnetonka, Walker and Albertville before just recently moving to Warren.  Lewayne worked as a floor installer for Marine Brothers.\

He was a member of Resurrection Church in Monticello, MN.

Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and watching the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings.  He loved spending time with his family.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Lorraine; two children, Douglas (Barb) Hess of Warren, MN and Denise (Tom) Moser of Aloha, OR; four grandchildren, Samuel (Channyn) Hess, Katrina Hess, Jonathan Hess and Lisa (Scott) Popelka and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Hess; granddaughter, Lauri Hess; brother, Darrell Hess and sister, Phyllis Berry.

SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the North Star Assisted Living Chapel in Warren, MN.

INTERMENT: Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN
