Lola Hedlund, 93, Warren, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009, at North Valley Health Center.

Lola Genieve Horgen was born June 27, 1916, in the Warren Hospital, the daughter of Alfred and Anetta (Dicken) Horgen of McCrea Township, where she grew up. She attended the Horgen country school near her home and graduated
from North State College. On Nov. 30, 1939, she was married to Ferdie Hedlund in McCrea Lutheran Church. They made their home on and farmed the Horgen homestead in McCrea Township. She continued to live on the farm until 2001, when she moved to Warren to live with her daughter, Sara. She was a
member of McCrea Lutheran Church, where she was organist for many years, and later Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday School, Release Time
and Vacation Bible School, was a leader of the McCrea 4-H Club, "pushing" her children to get their fair projects done on time, as well as a Girl Scout leader.

Left to mourn her passing are: four daughters, Grace (Don) Evans and Sara Hedlund of Warren, Joyce (Ken) Smith of Wasilla, Alaska, and Mary Hedlund (Rod Peterson) of Thief River Falls; one son, Jon (Linda) Hedlund of Rio Rancho, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, Steph (Dan) Baker, Erika Hedlund (Jadon Skjerven), Wesley (Blue) Hedlund, Nancy (John) Rebarchik, Bobby (Donna) Hedlund, Linda (Chris) Schroyer, Stacy (Kevin) Dorsey, Jon (Kristina) Hedlund, Jr,, Dana Hedlund and Dawn Hedlund; 13 great-grandchildren, Katy and Nick Baker, Anthony Skjerven, Christal and Wesley Hedlund, Jr., Renee Featherly, Kaylee Rebarchik, Jacinda and Kaitlyn Schroyer, Tommy and Tara
Dorsey, Jon Hedlund III and Bryan Hedlund; four great-great-grandchildren, Ivory Latter, Amber Woosypiti, Whitney Hedlund and Victoria Hedlund; two sisters-in-law, Ebba Horgen of Owatonna, MN and Junice Horgen of Warren, MN; one brother-in-law, Roger (June) Hedlund, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, on Dec. 29, 1983; eight sisters, Annie, Sarah, Mayme, Esther, Clarice, Agnes, Evelynne and Alice, and five brothers, Fred, Otto, Magnus, Clarence and Carl.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.
VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Thursday at the DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN and one hour before services on Friday at the church.
INTERMENT: McCrea Lutheran Cemetery, rural Warren, MN.
