Lolamae Beaudry

Lolamae Beaudry, 88, of Warren MN (formerly Argyle, MN) stepped into eternity on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at North Star Manor Nursing Home (formerly Good Samaritan).

Lolamae Sundby was born in Norway Township of Kittson County on March 13, 1929, the daughter of Otto and Alma (Nelson) Sundby. She grew up in Donnelly Township of Marshall County and attended country school there. On June 21, 1947 she married Kenneth Beaudry, Sr. at Argyle, Minnesota and lived there, where they farmed and raised seven children. Lolamae was a farm wife, homemaker, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to sing, country music was her favorite, cooking for her family and visiting with her family and friends. You never went hungry at Lola’s house. She would offer you dinner, sandwiches or one of her many favorite homemade desserts. The coffee was always on, regardless of the time of day. She enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee and Dominos. Some mom-isms we still laugh at are – if your ears are ringing, someone is talking about you; if you cross your eyes or make a face and the wind changes, you’ll stay that way; if the palm of your right hand itches, you’re going to meet someone new; if the palm of your left hand itches, you’ll come into money; and always wear clean underwear because you never know when you’ll be in a car accident.

Lola was a member of The Foresters and after her children were grown she worked as a cook for Senior Citizen Meals at the Argyle Legion. In June 2017, she and her partner of 40+ years, Peter Pokrzywinski, and her beloved puppy Missy, moved to North Star Manor Apartments (formerly Good Samaritan) where she resided until her death.

Family members include her children, Kenny (Ruth) Beaudry, Jr., Owatana, MN; Calvin (Darlene) Beaudry, Beaver Dam, WI; Marilyn (Dale) Huderle, Angus, MN; Susan (Geoff) Hastings, Federal Way, WA; Donna Beaudry, Lake Stevens, WA; Julie Manning, Waite Park, MN; and Rhonda Salem, Las Vegas, NV. She has 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Fredryce Sundby, Sandy Sundby and Irene Lindemoen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Oscar, Melroy, Palmer, Albert, Clarion and Bailey Lindemoen, Darold and Jack Sundby; and sisters: Lillian (Lindemoen) Larter, Florence (Lindemoen) Atnoeson, and Hazel (Sundby) Bukowski.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Memorial Service: Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 1:00 PM, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle, MN.
Interment: St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle.
Reception to follow in the church basement.
