Lou Efta

Lou Efta, 66, of rural Argyle, MN, passed away on Saturday, Febraury 13, 2016 at his home under the care of hospice with his family by side.

Lou Allyn Efta was born on July 5, 1949 in Roseau, MN, the son of Louis “Al” and Clara (Hanke) Efta. He was raised in the Greenbush, MN and Terrebonne, MN area and he graduated from Red Lake High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army, spending a year in combat conditions in Vietnam from August, 1969 - August, 1970, a few months after which he was honorably discharged and returned home. In 1972, Lou married Mary A. Rantanen at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Terrebonne. They made their home in rural Argyle where he farmed.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Mary; children, Joseph (Tara) of Argyle, MN, Jacob (Kandy) of Viking, MN, Joshua (Laura) of Stephen, MN, Jedediah of Decatur, IL, Amber (Jamie) of Fargo, ND, Kasia (Darrick) Jarshaw of Newfolden, MN and Louis “Alex” of St. Louis Park, MN; ten grandchildren; and brother, Cary of Thief River Falls, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis “Al” and Clara; and brother, Pat.

A Celebration of Life, complete with full military honors, food and drink, will be held at his farm,

on Saturday, June 18th, at 2:00 PM.

Military Honors Provided by: The Warren American Legion, Post #27 and The Minnesota National Guard.
