Richard "Rick" Bergeron

Richard “Rick” Bergeron, 63, of Warren, passed away in his home, on Thursday, August 24, 2017, after a short battle with cancer.

Richard Joseph was born on New Year's Day, 1954, to Amie and Leona (Kathman) Bergeron, in St. Paul, MN. He was raised in Argyle and grew up working on the family farm. Growing up, his family spent many winters working in Homestead Florida, while he and his sister also attended school down there.

In 1976, Rick married Debbie Swenson, lived in Argyle for a short time, then moved to Rick’s farm east of Warren to raise their three children. After ten years, the two divorced and Rick would enjoy many summers with his kids on the farm. He always loved farming and taking care of the land.

Rick enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, deer hunting, deep sea and ice fishing, spending time at his summer home near Bemidji, or vacationing in Florida- usually traveling to Clearwater or the Keys. He traveled throughout the United States with his good friend Kevin Hjelseth, with whom he also loved to play cards and roll dice. Rick also liked to tinker and play with RC cars. He was a humble man, a loving father and, a dedicated, hard-working farmer.

He is survived by his children, Kristi Bergeron of Minneapolis, MN, Teri (Troy Fearing) Bergeron of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tony Bergeron of Warren; grandson, Logan Bergeron; parents, Amie (Tere) Bergeron, and Lee (Bud) Paulson; sister, Deb (Loren) Zutz; half-siblings, Curtis Bergeron, Trevis (Greg) Husfeldt, Vicki (Ron) Ellefson, Amy Bergeron, and Julie (Scott) Overbey; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 3:00 PM, in DuBore Funeral Home Chapel, Warren, MN; with Visitation one hour prior.
