Robert "BJ" Bork

Robert Jon “BJ” Bork (59) of Oslo, was born in Park River, ND October 9, 1956, and passed away unexpectedly from an aortic aneurysm while at home, August 13, 2016.

BJ attended public schools in Park River, ND and from 4th grade on in Oslo, MN graduating in 1974. He then attended ITT Academy in Chicago for electronics. He loved what he did; two-way radios, computers and everything electronic. BJ was a gifted sound engineer and, like his father, was “into music”. Although he did not play an instrument, he had a “great ear” and combined this with his electronics knowledge he produced music that was heard and enjoyed by tens of thousands - having worked the past 28 years with his brothers putting on live performances throughout the region. BJ owned and operated BJ’s Electronics; setting up and repairing satellite TV and computer systems and also designing web sites. He worked the fall harvest driving truck for Nelson Farms of Oslo for the past 20+ years, and most recently was working at Minn-Dak Growers of Grand Forks, ND.  BJ was also a very capable chef. BJ had many love interests during his life, yet chose to remain a bachelor.

BJ was preceded in death by his parents; Robert Kay and Juanita Mae, infant brother Christopher and brother-in-law, Robert Carpenter.
He is survived by his siblings, Bruce-Grand Forks, ND, Melanie Carpenter-Oslo, MN, James-Grand Forks, ND, Jeff (Raanne) Oslo, MN, Lisa Schafer-Fargo, ND, Lara Cunningham-Dallas, TX; nieces & nephews, Chris (Kristy) Bork-Springfield, MO, Brian Bork-Grafton, ND, Ben (Jerilee) Carpenter-Argusville, ND, Dennis (Angie) Carpenter-EGF, MN, Bekki (Joey) Saelens-Anchorage, AK, Thomas Schafer-Grand Forks, ND, Dylan Bork-Ardoch, ND, Brooke (Jordan) Johnson-Warren, MN.

VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 PM, with sharing of memories, on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Oslo Community Center in Oslo, MN.
