Robert "Bob" Kliner

Robert “Bob” Kliner, age 66, of Warren, MN, passed away on April 24th, 2016, in Fort Myers Beach, FL, while fulfilling his lifelong dream of a deep dive after becoming SCUBA certified.

Robert Lee Kliner was born December 2nd, 1949 in Crookston, MN, the son of Elmer and Geri (Nelson) Kliner. He graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, in 1968. Shortly after graduation, Bob enlisted in the United States Army where he later served over 14 months in Vietnam as an Artilleryman. Upon completion of his military service, Bob returned to Warren where he met and later married Victoria Leigh Nicholls, also of Warren in 1971. He spent over 35 years as a lineman for PKM Electrical Co-op. Bob recently retired and traveled down to Florida with his wife, Viki, to enjoy the warm winter weather where he enjoyed shelling, SCUBA diving, and long days walking on the beach with the love of his life.

Bob was passionately involved with several community organizations and offices. He was elected to City Council where he served 19 years followed by 5 years as City Mayor, served in several roles on the County Fair Board, was president of the Warren Jaycees, American Legion Commander, Church Deacon and Sunday School teacher at the Warren Evangelical Covenant Church, and committed over 27 years to the Warren Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Viki Kliner; his sons, Kory (Josie) Kliner of Fargo, ND and their children Kellan, Kyleigh, Devynn and Reagan: Kelly (Kyra) Kliner of Crookston, MN and their children Keatyn and Keeva: and Kris (Sarah) Kliner of Fargo, ND and their children Hudson, Kolter, Emmett and (baby due in fall); father and mother, Elmer and Geri Kliner of Warren, MN; sister, Nancy (Gary) Wagner of Plymouth, MN; brother, Scott (Connie) Kliner of East Grand Forks, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy; brother, Dennis; father-in-law, Micky; mother-in-law, Jacky; sister-in-law, Marilyn; and son, Chad.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Evangelical Covenant Church in Warren, MN.

VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM prayer service on Monday at Evangelical Covenant Church in Warren and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN
