Theresa Dufault

Theresa Dufault, 95, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND.

Theresa Elizabeth Kuznia was born on November 19, 1921, on the family farm near Florian, MN, to Bert and Martha (Pietruszewski) Kuznia. She attended country school and left home after finishing, moving to St. Paul and working for Swift and Armour meat packing. After several years, Theresa moved back home to help her mother on the farm.

On June 11, 1947, Theresa was united in marriage to J. Kenneth Dufault, in St. Rose Catholic Church in Argyle. The couple made their home in Argyle, where Theresa raised their five children and was active in her church. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the St. Anne Society, and was on the parish Bazaar Committee. Even though she never cared for the spotlight, she was even head of the Argyle American Legion Auxiliary for a time.

Theresa was a fantastic homemaker, and in addition to canning, baking, and cooking, managed to keep her children (mostly) out of trouble. Her heart was focused on her family and she truly enjoyed taking care of them. When she wasn't working, she liked to bowl, play cards, and polka dance. She lived life to the fullest, right up to the end, even eating Maine lobster on her 95^th birthday! Kenneth passed away in 2009, and Theresa remained in town until moving to the nursing home in Cando, ND.

Theresa is survived by her children, Mark and Robert (Lana) Dufault both of Argyle, Jim (Susan) Dufault of Stoughton, WI, Mary Niles of Islamorada, FL, and Diane (Rick) Kruger of Davis, CA; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Kuznia; sisters, Dorothy Anderson, Barbara Campbell, and Florence Zeimer; and siblings-in-law, Ray Herbst, Margie Kuznia, and Janet Kuznia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Dallas Dufault; son-in-law, Mark Bittner; grandson, James Barnhill Jr.; brothers, August (Joann “June”), Thomas (Greta), Raymond, Leonard, and Robert; sisters, Eleanor Herbst, and Antoinette Kuznia; and brothers-in-law, Dewey Campbell, Ken Ziemer, Richard Anderson; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Kuznia; and in-laws, Morris (Delores) and Duane Dufault, and Eleanor (Kenneth) Bergeron.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, December 2, 2016, at 10:30 AM, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle, MN.
​Visitation: One hour prior to Mass.
Interment: St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle.
