Quanrud Funeral Home opened in 1937 after local barber, Rudy Quanrud, noticed the need for a mortuary that would serve Warren and the surrounding communities in the Red River Valley. He was joined in the profession in 1958 by his nephew, Charles DuBore (lic. 1851), a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Charles became a partner in the business with Rudy retiring in the 1970s.
In the summer of 1988, Chuck's son, Michael DuBore (lic. 3023) completed his Mortuary Science degree at the University of Minnesota and joined the business which soon became “Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home.” In 2005, the funeral home's name was changed to what it is now, reflecting the DuBore family's generations-long commitment to the people in the western half of Marshall County. To date, Chuck is the oldest licensed Mortician in the state, Mike has over three decades of service to his credit, Victor has been here for nearly a decade, and DuBore Funeral Home continues to serve the living and the dead while maintaining the high level of attention and care that have become the hallmark of the business.
In Memoriam: Rudy Quanrud (1901-1994) - Dolores DuBore (1938-2023)
