Angel Sczepanski

Angel Sczepanski, 80, formerly of Stephen, MN, passed away, peacefully, in Grand Forks, ND on Oct. 3rd 2017.

Angel May was born on May 21, 1937, to Harry and Alice (Poolman) Lafond, in Argyle, MN. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1955, and was married to Floyd Sczepanski on April 15, 1961, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

The couple made their home on a farm east of Stephen where they would raise five children. Angel was a wonderful homemaker and truly enjoyed gardening (both vegetables and flowers), canning, cooking, and baking for her family. After her children were a bit older, Angel worked as a home health aide for Marshall County Social Services; a job she really loved.

Angel was a longtime active member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and liked to do crossword puzzles and read. She also kept a daily journal for many years, writing down what she made for supper or what the weather was that day, and kept it up until her memory began to fail her. She will be remembered for her service to her church and for her great love of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Golden and husband Rocky Bertsch of Fargo, ND: son, Bill and wife Becki and their children, Barrett (Katie) and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Avery and Simon; Brady of Detroit Lakes, MN, Blake (Nikki) of Stephen, MN and great-granddaughter, Lyla; Billi Jo (Broc) of Grand Forks, ND: son, Mike and wife Laurie Beth and their children, Hayden and Hunter all of Argyle, MN: son, Mark and wife, Jill and their children, Aaron, Ian, Evan, Adam and Eli all of Grand Forks, ND: daughter, Angie and husband Jayson Kuznia and their children, Tanner, Taylor and Greta all of Horace, ND: siblings, Beverly Rogus, Judy Safranski, Diane (Gary) Durand, Douglas (Nancy) LaFond; sisters-in-law, Delphine Safranski, and Adele Nowacki; brother-in-law, Frank (Charlotte) Sczepanski; and many nieces and nephews.

Angel was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, who passed away on October 12, 2014; infant son, Jeffrey; granddaughter, Bayli Sczepanski; and sister Jeanne Olson.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 10:00 AM, in St. Stephen Catholic Church, Stephen, MN.
Visitation: Friday, October 6, from 5:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:40, and Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, in St. Stephen; and one hour prior to Mass.
Interment: St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle, MN.
