Angeline Kostrzewski

Angeline Kostrzewski, 84, of Argyle, MN, died on Sunday morning, March 19, 2017, in the Good Samaritan Center, Warren, MN surrounded by her children.

Angeline Martha was born on December 30, 1932, to Felix and Violet (Chrzanowski) Blazejewski in Wright Township, MN. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school at Oakridge County School by Florian, MN. On November 8, 1950, Angeline was united in marriage to Stanley Timothy Kostrzewski in Assumption Catholic Church, Florian.

The two made their home just outside of Argyle, where they raised their six children and Stanley did farm work. Angeline was a wonderful homemaker. She managed her time well, seeming to get more done in a day than most, and kept her home so clean you could “eat off the floors.” She also had a knack for gardening and making things grow; but her real talent lay in weed-pulling. When the family moved into town, Angeline kept her yard immaculate and even took care to pull weeds in her neighbors' yards, or whenever else she would see them. For many years she took jobs housekeeping for other families in town, doing seasonal work for the St. Germain's, and cleaning at the Argyle State Bank. Stanley died on August 29, 2012.

Angeline loved her church and was always quick to volunteer, especially serving in the church kitchen. She was active for many years in the Catholic Daughters and was so proud of her group.

She was a talker, never being too shy to wade into a crowd of people and strike up a conversation, usually opening with, “Is it cold outside?” Angeline will be remembered for her great love of others, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Angeline is survived by her children, Leonard (Lola) Kostrzewski of Drayton, ND, Walter (Laura) Kostrzewski of Strandquist, MN, Lambert (Barb) Kostrzewski of Warren, MN, Lori Hamrick of Deerwood, MN, and Jean (Greg) Wilson of Cook, MN; nine grandchildren, Katie, Kyle, Kent, Ben, Kayla, Alex, Carissa, Garth, and Katarina; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosemary Sylskar Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; son, Edward; a stillborn son; granddaughter, Krin Ann; grandson, Michael Gregory Wilson; her parents; and brothers, Albert and Richard Blazejewski.

Visitation: Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 5:00 PM; Rosary at 6:30 PM, with a Prayer Service to Follow, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle, MN; and one hour prior to Mass.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, March 24, 2017, at 10:30 AM, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Argyle.
