AnnaLou Gordhamer

AnnaLou Gordhamer, 90, Argyle, Minnesota passed away on April 28, 2017, at Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

AnnaLou Haug was born on June 13, 1926 at Grafton, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Hilma (Bergstrom) Haug. She attended rural elementary school and graduated from Grafton High School in 1944. AnnaLou attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and graduated in 1948 with a degree in Business Education. She was a high school business teacher for many years in Argyle, Minnesota.

On December 20, 1953, she was united in marriage to Gordon N. Gordhamer at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Argyle. They farmed in the Argyle area all of their lives. Gordon passed away on March 15, 2005.

AnnaLou was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and also greatly valued her church and community. She was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church during her prime years serving in Ladies Aid and Church Council offices, including President. She was an active member of the Marshall County Historical Society and the Argyle Historical Society for many years.

AnnaLou took up golf during her retirement years and enjoyed being a member of the Women’s Golf League at the Stephen Riverside Golf Course. She also enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, sewing and doing wood crafts. AnnaLou will be remembered for her famous oatmeal buns and decorated cakes along with personalized calligraphy cards for people’s special occasions.

AnnaLou is survived by her daughter, Jody (Tim) Paulson, Stephen, MN and their children, KariJo (Jonathan) O’Keefe, Grand Forks, ND and children, Landon and Luke; Scott (Kelley) Paulson, Eagan, MN and their children, Reid and Tate; her son, Jon Gordhamer, Argyle, MN and her brother, Palmer Haug, Yuba City, CA and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; sister, MaryJane Mattson and sister in law, Jo Haug.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 4:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2017 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN.

VISITATION: One hour before services.

INTERMENT: Woodlawn Cemetery, Argyle, MN
