Delores "Dolly" Kaml Obituary

Delores “Dolly” Ruth (Knutson) Kaml was born November 22, 1928, in Brandt Township, Polk County Minnesota.

She passed away at the Thief River Care Center on June 13, 2019 at 90 years of age. Dolly married George Kaml on November 19, 1948 in Angus, they made their home in rural Warren Minnesota and proceeded to build a family to help with farm duties. Dolly is known for her baking and cooking and her marathon of converting 200 lbs of cabbage into sauerkraut…no one came to visit without a meal or coffee and snack. A normal day on the farm was up early, start a batch of bread, out to the barn to milk, pick eggs, help feed the critters and back in the house for breakfast, before sending a crew out to the fields to work. Dolly’s job was feeding and caring for George and her family. She was a master at sewing, revamping and resizing clothes to fit her ever growing family. Dolly worked outside the home briefly after the kids were grown.

Dolly was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the DAV. She was proud and generous at producing baked or canned goods to help with fundraisers for both organizations.

As we all know Dolly’s hobbies were puzzle books, bingo, trips to a casino and giving orders & hugs!

Dolly is preceded in death by her husband George, her parents Charles and Mary Knutson, and 3 children Georgianna, Darlene (both infants) and Lori (as well as Lori’s daughter Samantha McGowen), son-in-laws Bill Fuller, Jobi Burton. As well as siblings Ida, Mabel, Adeline, Harry, Bernice, Oscar, Lloyd, Caroline, Phyllis, Neil, and twin brother Dennis (Teddy).
