Dorothy Kirsch

Dorothy Kirsch, 97, of Stephen, MN, passed away on Thursday afternoon, August 1, 2019 at North Star Manor in Warren, MN.

Dorothy Christine Rud was born on May 10, 1922 in Fork Township (rural Stephen), the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Rasmussen) Rud. She was raised in Stephen where she graduated from Stephen High School in 1939. In 1942, Dorothy moved to Minneapolis, MN On December 30, 1943, she married Lloyd Kirsch. They made their home in Minneapolis and Dorothy worked for Golden Rule in St. Paul, MN for two years before going to work at the University of Minnesota from 1953 – 1983. She worked in the Office of Admissions and Records as the office manager. Lloyd died on June 7, 1983. Dorothy moved back to her hometown of Stephen in 1985.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Stephen Senior Citizens and Stephen American Legion Auxiliary Post 390.

Dorothy loved to play cards and have friends over to visit. She was a great friend who cared about her family and friends. Dorothy was loved by many.

Left to mourn her passing are two sisters-in-law, Elaine Deeney and Irene Rud; several nieces and nephews and many great friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary; husband, Lloyd and siblings, Verna Benson, Walter Rud and Harvey Rud.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Stephen, MN.

VISITATION: One hour before service at the church.

INTERMENT: Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN
