Elaine Kollin

Elaine Kollin, 82, of Alvarado, MN, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2017 at her home.

Elaine Ann Quern was born on November 26, 1935 in rural Oslo, MN, the daughter of Ole and Clara (Bang) Quern. She was raised in the Oslo area where she graduated from Oslo High School. Elaine also attended nursing school in Grand Forks, ND. She was united in marriage to Dennis Kollin on October 19, 1957 in Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo. They made their home in Alvarado. Elaine worked as a bookkeeper at Lystads Inc. in Grand Forks for many years. Dennis died on August 19, 2015.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo. Elaine loved playing cards with Dennis.

Elaine is survived by her children, Judy (Patrick) Rosinski, and Jay Kollin both of Grand Forks; five grandchildren, Lisa, Wesley, Michael, Samantha, and Jay; great-grandchildren, Braxton and Jerzee; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Clara; husband, Dennis; and siblings, Edeia Quern, Erma Quern, Gerald Quern, and Beatrice Johnson.

Elaine's wishes were for no funeral service to be held.

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Oslo, MN.
