Evelyn Perry

Evelyn Perry, 96, of Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, March 18, 2018 at North Star Manor in Warren.

Evelyn Mae Strom was born on May 1, 1921 in Warren, MN, the daughter of Ole and Annie (Jorgenson) Strom. She was raised in Warren where she graduated from high school. After high school, she moved to Chicago, IL where she attended North Park College. She lived in Roanoke, VA for two years while she worked for the Northwest Railroad. In 1944, she married Curtis Engelstad. They made their home in Warren. Evelyn married Ed Perry in 1981 and they lived in Minneapolis, MN and Grand Rapids, MN. Ed died in 1992. After Ed passed away, she moved back to Warren. Evelyn worked at the ASC office in Warren for over 13 years and at Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Minneapolis for 15 years.

She had many hobbies that she enjoyed including, traveling, reading, playing cards, baking, writing poetry. Evelyn loved spending time with family and friends. She also volunteered at the hospital.

Left to mourn her passing are two children, Yvonne (Bill) Bossman of Warren, MN and Patricia (Rick) Gould of Grand Rapids, MN; daughter-in-law, Patti Engelstad of Taconite, MN; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; son, Richard “Dick” Engelstad; grandson, Chris Bossman; brother, Earl Strom and sister, Gladys Abrahamson.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM, in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour prior to services.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN
