Harvey Johnson, 89, of Warren, MN, passed away on Monday afternoon, May 6, 2019 at North Star Manor in Warren.
Harvey Lloyd Johnson was born on August 1, 1929 in East Grand Forks, MN, the son of Harry M. and Lillian (Erickson) Johnson. He was raised in Oslo, MN before moving to rural Warren as a young boy. Harvey graduated from Warren High School and served in the US Army from 1952 – 1953. He was honorably discharged to return home to farm due to his father's and brother's deaths. On November 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Eileen M. Stinar. They lived in Warren for one year before moving to the family farm where Harvey farmed his entire life. Eileen died on January 18, 2016.
He enjoyed fishing, building model airplanes and cars and spending time with his family and friends.
Harvey was a member First Lutheran Church, Warren American Legion Post #27, Masons and a Boxville Township officer for many years. He was known for his devotion to his country and his church.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Greg (Sandy) Johnson of Warren, MN, Laurie (Russell) Steer of Euclid, MN, and Brad Johnson of Warren, MN; grandchildren, Natasha Osowski, Tyler Johnson, Brianna Pulkrabek, Jason Steer, Jerod Steer, Nathan Steer, Joshua Steer, Miles Johnson, Lillian Johnson, David Patience and Erin Patience; sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lillian; wife, Eileen; sisters, Fern Davidson, Harriet Brenner and Elizabeth Grembowski and brother, David Lee Johnson.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.
VISITATION: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Warren and one hour before services at church on Friday.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN
