James “Jim” Edgar, 96, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Woodside Village in Grand Forks, ND.
James Dana Edgar was born on August 23, 1921 in Warren, MN, the son of John and Lillian (Boyd) Edgar. He was raised in Warren and attended the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN. Jim served in the US Navy during World War II from November 25, 1942 until he was honorably discharged on January 26, 1946. On December 26, 1948, he was united in marriage to Constance “Connie” Knutson. They made their home in Warren. Jim farmed and was a Field Supervisor for Minnesota Crop Improvement Association. Jim and Connie moved to Grand Forks in 2012. Connie died on November 18, 2014.
He was an active member First Lutheran Church and Warren American Legion Post #27.
Jim enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.
Left to mourn his passing are his three children, Tom (Karen) Edgar of Plymouth, MN, Richard (Linda) Edgar of Grand Forks, ND and Pam (Ray) Wells of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Kristen Edgar Monson, Joshua Edgar and Katherine Edgar and great-grandchildren, Brandon Monson, Anna Monson, Sophie Edgar and Jack Edgar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie and two sisters, Lois Trapp and Doris Enebak.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.
VISITATION: 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN and one hour before services at the church on Monday.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
