Junice Horgen

Junice Horgen, 93, of Warren, MN, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at North Star Manor in Warren.

Junice Genevieve Paulson was born on September 30, 1926 in Vega Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Benhart and Gena (Mickelson) Paulson. She was a life long resident of the Warren area. On December 23, 1944, she was united in marriage to Clarence Horgen. They made their home in Warren. Junice was a jack of all trades who did many things during her life including working at Swedberg Clothing Store, garment division at Arctic Cat and in the potato fields. She also sold Tupperware and Junice and Clarence owned and operated Horgen Grocery on 6th Street. Clarence died on October 8, 1979.

She was a member of McCrea Lutheran Church until it closed and she joined Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid. Junice also belonged to the MS Society.

Junice had many interests that she enjoyed pursuing. She was an expert seamstress, an avid gardener who canned and froze the produce she grew, an excellent baker and doing arts and crafts. Junice was an accomplished writer of short stories and poems.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Julie (David) Floyd, Jan Horgen-Thorson, Bruce (Marlene) Horgen, James (Teri) Horgen and Dennis (Nancy) Horgen; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Opal, Audrey and Maxine and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Clarence; daughter, Judith Oberg; sons-in-law, Kenneth Sevigny and Galen Oberg; granddaughter, Kayla; great-granddaughters, Kloe and Jazelyn; great-grandsons, Nicholas and Treyton; brothers, Gordon, Bentley and Delano and stepchildren, Clifford Horgen, David Horgen and Doris Kay.

SERVICE: 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.

VISITATION: One hour before services.

INTERMENT: McCrea Lutheran Cemetery, rural Warren, MN
