Kay Anderson

Kay Anderson, 79, of Warren, MN, passed away on Thursday evening, October 19, 2017 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Roberta Kay was born on February 8, 1938 in Hallock, MN to Odd A. and Fidessia (Wilkie) Farbo. She grew up in rural Roseau County, near Caribou, and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1956. On September 28, 1957, Kay was united in marriage to Lowell D. Anderson and together they raised a family and farmed in rural Warren where she would live the remaining 60 years of her life.

Kay was a longtime active member at Our Savior's Lutheran Church serving on church council and teaching Sunday school, and worked in the Mission In Action group. She was an avid quilter with the Our Saviors and Melo Quilters group and enjoyed making numerous quilts for mission work and fundraisers. She also worked with a number of charitable organizations that served the local community. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and at one time served as their secretary. Kay was one of the original members of the DAC Board, and was in the McCrea 4-H club and the Warren Sno-Cat Riders. Kay also enjoyed gardening (especially flowers) and spending time with her family and many friends. She also just recently became a 10 Gallon Blood Donor for the United Blood Services.

She is survived by her sons, Tracy Anderson of rural Warren, and Spencer (Janet Gladback) Anderson of Lafayette, LA; daughters, Terri (Phillip) Anderson-Webb of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Dayle Anderson-Scherber of Warren; seven grandchildren, Dustin Anderson, Misty (Pete Lageson) Anderson, Sadie Scherber, Damien Scherber, Michael (Melissa) Webb, Kathleen (Joe) Whitters, and Samuel Webb; great-grandchildren, Draven, Braydon, Savannah R., Aria, James, Leah, and Savannah W.; and siblings, Bill Farbo of New York Mills, Richard (Darlene) Farbo of Maplewood, Gaye (Dick) Phillips of Inver Grove Heights, Patty Udelhofen of Perham, Dinah (Dave) Burkel of Park Rapids, and Eileen Farbo of New York Mills, MN.

In addition to her husband, Lowell, who died on May 5, 2001, Kay was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dessie Parks; and brothers-in-law, Bill Parks and Ray Udelhofen.

CELEBRATION OF A LIFE WELL-LIVED: 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.
VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM prayer service on Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN
