Lucille E. (Hallberg) Hams

Lucille E. (Hallberg) Hams, age 93, of Hallock, MN, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center, Hallock.

Lucille was born November 30, 1924, in rural Karlstad, MN, to Swedish immigrants, Hjalmer and Freda (Bloomquist) Hallberg, one of two children. She attended Karlstad Schools and on November 7, 1944 she married Gordon Hams in Karlstad. They had one daughter, Chrystal. They spent their early years in Karlstad and in the state of Washington.  From there they resided in Minneapolis, MN, from 1967-1980.  They then moved to Warren where they lived until 1984.   From the period of 1984-2011, Lucille called Thief River Falls her home.  She spent a brief time at the Tamarac in Stephen, and then moved to Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in 2015.  Her loving husband, Gordon died in 1986 and her loving daughter, Chrystal died in 2012. Lucille was a woman of strong faith and loved spending time with her family. She was very active in church activities and volunteered at various places prior to having health problems. She loved reading, playing the piano and visiting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gordon, daughter, Chrystal, and brother, Chester.

Survivors include her grandsons, Mark & Cara Hendrickson of Argyle, Matt & Mercy Hendrickson of Victoria; great-grandchildren, Daulton, Taylor, Annabella, Aidan and Alaina; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018, 10:00 AM at the DuBore Funeral Home, 424 W. Wentzel Avenue, Warren, MN, with the Reverend Jim Robberstad officiating.

The visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

The burial will be at Karlstad Municipal Cemetery, Karlstad.
