Margaret Gerszewski

Margaret Gerszewski, 87, of rural Argyle, MN, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

Margaret Christine Szczepanski was born on July 19, 1931 in Tamarac Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Alex and Sophie (Przekwas) Szczepanski. She was raised in Tamarac Township and attended country school. On November 5, 1952, she married Joseph Gerszewski. They made their home in Tamarac Township where they farmed and raised their family. Joe passed on December 12, 2006.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, canning produce and spending time with her family. She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church for whom she made and donated many flower bouquets from her gardens.

Left to mourn her passing are her fifteen children, Leo of Forest River, ND, Philip of Fargo, ND, Vincent of Stephen, MN, John (Nancy) of Warren, MN, Elizabeth (Duane) Mattson of Grand Forks, ND, Dorothy (Tom) Sevigny of Grand Forks, ND, David of Warren, MN, Richard of Warroad, MN, Eugene (Rachelle) of Moorhead, MN, Daniel (Mindy) of Stephen, MN, Phyllis (Ray) Gajeski of Grand Forks, ND, James (Rebecca) of Emerado, ND, Stanley (Melissa) of Marshfield, WI, Jerry (Jill) of Gardner, ND, and Jennifer of Warren, MN; thirty-seven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brother, Alen (Gail) Szczepanski of Argyle, MN; sister, Antoinette Fitterer of Steele, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Sophie, and husband, Joseph.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stephen, MN.

VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Rosary and a 6:45 PM Prayer Service on Thursday at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stephen and one hour before services at the church on Friday.

INTERMENT: St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Stephen, MN
