Robin Johnson, 66, of Warren, MN, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, in Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, ND, at the close of his battle with cancer.
Robin Patrick was born on May 4, 1953, in Warren, to Elmer C. and Dorothy Joan (Fryer) Johnson. He graduated from Warren High School in 1971, and attended college at both UND and NDSU. On May 17, 1975, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, LuAnn Knudsen. They made their home in Alvarado, MN, and Robin started farming with his father-in-law. He began purchasing the farm in the mid 1980s, eventually forming Johnson Family Farms. They moved onto the farmyard in 1997. When his son, Tony, joined him in 2003, Robin was blessed to live “every man's dream:” to work the family land alongside his son. Even in his last illness, Robin's thoughts were never too far from the farm. With a little help, he managed to combine this year's harvest of wheat and beans.
Though Robin served on the Warrenton Township board for many years and was a director of the Sugarbeet Growers Association, his most valued accomplishment was his 22-years of service on the Alvarado and Warren Volunteer Fire Departments. When he wasn't home farming, he enjoyed spending time at both the family's lake place and in Palm Springs. He also enjoyed cruising in his Corvette.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, LuAnn; son, Tony (Lindsey) Johnson and their children, Easton and Everly, all of Warren; daughter, Jessie Johnson of Tucson, AZ; and sisters, Joy Lavik of Minot, ND, and Beth Johnson of Eagan, MN.
Robin was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to the Warren Volunteer Fire Department or North Valley Health Center.
