Stephanie (Howard) Roufs

Stephanie Roufs, 66, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Friday morning, August 16, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Stephanie Anne Howard was born on October 25, 1952 in Warren, MN, the daughter of Harry and Muriel (Furan) Howard She was raised in Warren and graduated from Warren High School. Stephanie graduated from nursing school in Sioux Falls, SD. She worked as a nurse at the VA Healthcare in Fargo and nursing homes in Grand Forks. On April 22, 1989, she married James Stephen Roufs in Warren. They made their home in Fargo, ND before moving to Grand Forks in 2003. James died on September 17, 2015. Stephanie enjoyed living the past few years at Silver Waters.

She was big sports fan, especially for cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins and she enjoyed attending country music concerts.

Stephanie had health issues her entire life but she always had a positive attitude. She cared more about other people than her self. For the last 13 years, she had dialysis at Altru Renal Dialysis and the people that she met there had become a second family. Stephanie was proud of her nieces and nephews and she would talk about them often.

Left to mourn her passing are her siblings, Tom (Fern) Howard of Scottsdale, AZ, Pam (Don) Slusar of Coon Rapids, MN, Tim (Bonnie) Howard of Warren, MN and Tony (Peggy) Howard of Shakopee, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Muriel; her husband, James and her dog, Champ.

SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN.

VISITATION: Starts at 10:00 AM until the service at the funeral home.

INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
