William "Billy" Borowicz

William “Billy” Borowicz, 65, of Florian, MN, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 24, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

William Anthony Borowicz was born on December 23, 1954 in Crookston, MN, the son of Robert and Adeline (Bukowski) Borowicz. He was raised on the family farm by Florian and he attended school in Strandquist before graduating from Stephen High School in 1972. Billy lived in several places before getting married in 1992 to Kim Nelson and settling in the Strandquist area. He worked on the family dairy farm until 1997 when he went to work on the pipeline.

Billy loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked taking care of the livestock. Billy played a lot of cards, especially pinochle. His love of being with people was equaled by his talent of being a bull*****er.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Michael (Elizabeth) Nelson of Winters, CA and Alex Borowicz and Megan Borowicz, both of Strandquist, MN; grandchildren, Benjamin and August Nelson; mother, Adeline Borowicz of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings, Carol (Arlen) Gustafson of Thief River Falls, MN, Mary Jo (Craig) Larson of Dilworth, MN, Leonard (Kathy) Borowicz of Stephen, MN and Larry (Patty) Borowicz of Stillwater, MN, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Borowicz.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, MN.

VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM prayer service on Monday at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian and one hour before services at the church.

INTERMENT: Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Florian, MN
