Allen St. Germain

Allen St. Germain, 87, of West Fargo, ND, formerly of Bemidji and Argyle, MN, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday evening, October 20, 2025.

Allen John was born on August 23, 1938, in Crookston, MN, to John and Florence (Bedard) St. Germain. He grew up on the family farm north of Argyle, where he learned the value of hard work, faith, and family—values he carried with him throughout his life. After graduating from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston in 1956, Allen married JoAnn Kathman, on October 1, 1957, in Stephen, MN.

Allen and JoAnn made their home in Argyle, where they farmed and raised their five children. After retiring from farming, Allen and JoAnn enjoyed their years at Lake Andrusia near Bemidji and spent many wonderful winters in Lake Havasu, AZ. For the past two years, they called West Fargo home.

He was an active member of the Argyle community. Allen belonged to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Argyle Lions, and proudly served for 25 years with the Argyle Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

Family was everything to Allen. He especially loved the family reunions. Allen was proud of his children and absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outdoors—whether it was hunting, fishing or golfing.

Grateful to have shared his life are his wife of over 68 years, JoAnn; children, Mike (Chris) St. Germain and Bob (Deanna) St. Germain all of Argyle, MN, Roger (Diane) St. Germain of Bismarck, ND and Doreen (Marty) Heinz of West Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Annette (John) Koch, Norman (Delores) St. Germain, Diane (Louie) Grochowski and David (Denise) St. Germain and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence, daughter, Lynelle and brothers, Roger and Paul.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN.

VISITATION: One hour before services at the church.

INTERMENT: St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle, MN
