Andy Deitz, 62, of Warren, MN, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at his place by the lake in Waskish, MN.
Andrew Scott Deitz was born on September 19, 1963, in Grand Forks, ND, to Gerald and Ruth (Delage) Deitz. Raised in Grand Forks, he graduated from Red River High School in 1982, and worked for local construction crews as a mason's assistant, mixing mortar.. At night he ran a cleaning business, Andy's Cleaning Service, which he later took full-time, cleaning for Dahlstrom's, Frandsen and Bremer Banks, the State Mill, a number of restaurants (including Paradiso and Ground Round), and other business you probably know. When he wasn't working seven days a week, Andy enjoyed escaping to Upper Red Lake, where he'd bought some land alongside his brothers'. He enjoyed fishing, but didn't have too much the patience for it. Mostly, he liked to snowmobile, spend time with his grandkids at the cabin, and simply be away from the bustle of everyday life.
On December 23, 2005, Andy was married to Malinda Bowman. He and Mindy made their home in Warren and he became a stepfather to her two children. He loved John and Tabitha as his own, and when their kids came, he was the best “Grandpa Andy” he could be. In recent years he worked for ICS, a construction company in Grand Forks and, as always, got out to his place in the woods whenever he could.
In addition to his wife (his “wiffie”), Mindy, Andy is survived by his two step-children, Tabitha (Darian) Garfve, and John (Lauren) Flom; grandkids, Selena, Scott, Brantley, Braxton, and Rosemary; five siblings, Vanessa (Michael) Munn, Craig and Paul Deitz, Mary Goetz, and Cindy Robertson- and their families; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William “Billy” Deitz; and nephew, Tyler Robertson.
VISITATION: Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 5:00 PM, in DuBore Funeral Home Chapel of Warren; a Time of Sharing will begin at 6:30 PM; final Prayers and Commendation at 7:00 PM.
HIS REMAINS will be scattered in the meadow up on his property.
