Austin Roley, 43, of Warren, MN, passed from this life on June 3, 2026.
Austin Richard Roley was born on June 30, 1982, in Crosby, MN. When he was six-months old, he was adopted by Richard “Rick” and Muriel (Maruska) Roley- with almost no notice. The sudden family of three soon found their stride and welcomed a sister, Aubrie, into the fold. From the time he was a kid, Austin's brain worked in curious and wonderful ways. He loved nature and was often with a bug net in-hand, when not tending to (and eating) garden peas with his mom. He had an intuition with machines, and his young mechanic's mind helped him take apart a hundred of them (much to his dad's dismay), though he ALWAYS got them back together. In many ways brilliant, Austin only really enjoyed school when he got to college, receiving his Associates degree in Auto Mechanics from Northland College in Bemidji.
Never self-conscious, with Austin what you' d see is what you'd get: an unkempt beard, maybe, but a big smile to match. He'd work someplace one day then pack up the next, his family hauling his series of non-running cars home several times. He'd get the cars working then start on something new. A few years ago he moved to Warren, finally satisfying his “itchy feet” that kept him on the go, and began getting his life together: he was on the way up! At the time of his passing he was employed with a spice company, Fuchs North America, in Grand Forks, and really enjoyed the job.
Though he was rather private, he was very serious about his drug and alcohol recovery and was prompt about checking in on his friends. He often neglected himself to take care of his friends that he made at Prairie St. Johns. He was also a very quiet but faithful believer. He read the Bible cover-to-cover and was devoted to the Gospel of Luke in particular. He'd occasionally attend Grace Methodist Church and volunteered for their “Living Last Supper” several years ago.
He is survived by his father, Rick Roley; his sister, Aubrie Roley; aunts, Mary Beth (Richard) Edman, Joanne (Ken) Kostka, Claudia (Mark) Thompson, Becky (Tom) Bro, and Kim (Justin) Myhre; several cousins; and many friends; and his great friends and supports, Tyler Leitch and Richelle Boman.
There to greet him again (with snap peas in hand) is his mother, Muriel; infant son, Evan Richard John (Jun. 8 -Nov. 1, 2010); and his grandparents, Vernon & Shirley Roley, and Harveydale & Harriet Maruska.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, June 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM, in Grace United Methodist Church.
VISITATION: One hour prior.
INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery of Warren, MN.
