GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Saturday (of the fair), July 23, 2022, at 10:30 AM, in Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
Betty Evin, 93, lifelong resident of Warren, MN, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, in North Star Manor, Warren, with her children at her side.
Betty Ann Anderson was born on September 11, 1928, in Warren, the only child of Thorwald and Anna (Jirmasek) Anderson. She grew up in town, graduating from Warren High School in 1947. She met Edward “Eddie” Evin, who was also from the area, and the two were united in marriage on December 30, 1948. They continued their lives together in Warren and raised four children.
Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed a variety of jobs. Betty and Eddie owned and operated Eddie's Tavern for more than 20 years. She later worked at Hardware Hank and at the Marshall County Courthouse, both in Warren. She had many hobbies and participated in many activities including golfing, bowling in league, crocheting, painting ceramics, baking, playing cards with her friends, and playing slot machines at casinos. She volunteered at Senior Meals for many years and especially enjoyed playing bingo at the Marshall County Fair every summer. Betty had a big heart for animals, and she had many beloved dogs and cats.
She was a lifelong member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, and was a longtime member of the Warren American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Betty is survived by three of her children, Gerry (Patti) Evin of Vancouver, WA, Judy (Mark) Flaten of Warren, and Nancy Christman of Vallejo, CA; daughter-in-law, Wanda Evin of West Fargo, ND; twelve grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Eddie, who died on July 19, 1989; Betty was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Evin, who died on January 27, 2008.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, November 15, 2021, at 10:30 AM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Warren, MN.
VISITATION: One hour prior, at the church.
INTERMENT: Summer of 2022, in Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
