Betty Loranger Obituary

Betty Loranger, 93, of Argyle, MN, died in North Star Manor of Warren, MN, with her children at her side.

Betty Lou Harris was born at home in Bigwoods Township, Marshall County, MN, to Henry and Lillian (Lindemoen) Harris. Attending Bigwoods Country School, she moved to Stephen, MN with her family and finished her education at the public school there. On May 19, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Victor Joseph Loranger in Saint Rose Catholic Church of Argyle, MN. The young couple moved to Argyle that year and Betty would live there the rest of her life. As a young mother, Betty stayed home with the four children, keeping involved with her church and its ladies and with the scouts as a den mother. She helped run Loranger Foods for almost forty years alongside her husband and enjoyed wintering in Florida. Vic died on May 2, 1996. Betty lived independently, enjoying sewing, puzzles, gardening and playing games with friends and family like Yahtzee, Farkle, and cards.

Betty had a big heart, never had a bad word to say about anybody, and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her children, SheilaRae (Myron) Dargus of Richfield, MN, Curtis (Barb) Loranger of Moorhead, MN, Patty (Gary) Nagle of Bemidji, MN, and David Loranger (Cindy Berg) of Bloomington, MN; eleven grandchildren, ReAnn Dargus Robelia (Jon), Mandy (Leo) Andrie and Tyler Loranger, Brandy (Dave) Baumrucker, Angela Nagle, Nicholas (fiancee Abby) Nagle, and Samantha (Ben) Doty, Matt Loranger, Melissa Loranger (Matthew Bastian), Nathan Loranger (Erica Sanborn), and Nichole (Ian) Sunstrom; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Sheridan (Maude) Harris of Grand Forks, ND; and many close nieces and nephews.
