Brandon Deschene Obituary

Brandon Deschene, 39, of Warren, MN, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023 at his home from a stroke and brain aneurysm.

Brandon Jon was born on January 30, 1984 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Jon and Lori (Counter) Deschene. He was raised in Argyle, MN and graduated from Stephen Argyle Central in 2002. Brandon had a great love of shoes, even at a young age. Growing up, he always had to have the best and most unique shoes at the expense of his siblings' needs. Brandon attended the University of North Dakota. On August 12, 2006, he married the love of his life, Kelsey Sorenson, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN. They made their home in Warren where together they had three children. Brandon and Kelsey made a great family team together, especially in the kitchen. Brandon was a great cook who wasn't afraid to get the dishes dirty (he did not like washing dishes) and Kelsey begrudgingly washed every dish, pot, pan and silverware that he would use. His favorite dad joke when everyone was in the car was,”I will drive so we all can sleep.” Brandon worked at Best Buy and Invisimax before forming Diamond Home Entertainment and TechOne.

He loved everything sports. Brandon was a great Minnesota Gopher football fan and WAO Ponies fan, especially following his children's activities. He enjoyed coaching his favorite girls traveling team and he considered the girls on the team family. Brandon was an active Gopher fan and he attended many home and away football games in his Gopher wrapped bus and RV. Another sports highlight for Brandon was attending the 2006 Super Bowl in Detroit, MI.

Brandon came off as tough and a little scary. When people met him, they would find out what Kelsey and his kids knew – he was mush. He did everything to extremes and in the most extra way possible. Brandon was also known to be a little dramatic at times which made life interesting. The most important things in the world to him were Kelsey and his kids.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kelsey; three wonderful children, Cooper, Austin and Nora; parents, Jon and Lori Deschene; siblings, Jon (Veronica Lien) Deschene, Justine (John) Capp and their children, Oakleigh, Emersyn, Isaiah and Jax, Blaine (Sabrina) Deschene and their children, Lincoln, Logan, Maren and Shay and Brooke (Beau) Bothum and their children, Berkleigh and Rawlings, mother-in-law, Mary (Jim) Klamm; father-in-law, Mike Sorenson, brother and sisters-in-law, Nate Klamm, David (Jamie) Klamm, Abby Sorenson and Ally (Matt) Linder and their children Elsie and Thea; his cat, Pete; his dog, Tilly; very special friends, Brittney Palm and Drew Hansen and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ione Counter, Herbert Counter and Frieda and Ernest Deschene; uncle and Godfather, Kevin Deschene; uncle, David Safranski; and cousin, Katie Counter.
