Chris-Ann Abrahamson Obituary

Chris-Ann Marie Abrahamson passed away on November 21st, 2024, at North Star Manor.  She was loved by many.

Chris-Ann was born on Oct 10th, 1942, to Lester Schantzen and Myrtle (Neegard) Anderson in Warren, MN. Chris-Ann graduated from Warren High School where she met Loren. She attended dances and sock hops with her friends and cousin Patty (Neegard) Anderson. Chris-Ann Schantzen married her high school sweetheart Loren Abrahamson on February 16th, 1963, and they were married almost 62 years.

Life for Chris-Ann was anything but boring. She was the mother of five children, raised them as members of the First Lutheran Church and had many duties as a farm wife. She made many meals and drove out to the field to feed everyone together. During the busiest years of her life Chris-Ann was known for baking, making homemade jelly and jam, sewing-which included making matching outfits for her children when they were young. Chris-Ann helped her children with school projects and craft projects. In her down time, usually late at night, she especially enjoyed doing ceramics.

She was a leader for Brownies and Girl Scouts for Troop 208. Chris-Ann taught Sunday school for many years. She attended sporting and musical events her children were involved in. She made scrapbooks with the articles and pictures of her children that were saved from the Warren Sheaf. When her youngest child grew older, she worked at Ben Franklin, the bakery, Dale's Foods, and Hardware Hank in Warren. Chris-Ann was kind, had a great sense of humor, contagious laugh, listening ear and a strong faith.

Together with her husband they moved to St Peter, MN where she worked at More 4 and helped provide childcare for her grandchildren for a few years. They later moved to Grygla, MN where "home" was the cabin up north in the woods with an abundance of wildlife. She worked for the May Corporation for a short time also provided childcare for her grandchildren while living there. Loren and Chris-Ann returned to Warren and became members of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Chris-Ann was an active member and was appreciated for her willing spirit to help wherever she was able. She also enjoyed participating in Bible Studies. Chris-Ann volunteered at the DAC and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Chris-Ann is survived by her five children: Keith (Pam) Abrahamson of Warren, MN, Todd (Beth) Abrahamson of Grygla, MN, Jodi Abrahamson (Bob Erickson) of Warren, MN, Kim (Jim) Neubauer of St Peter, MN and Mindi (Rick) Acker of Bismarck, ND; Nine grandchildren, Victoria Lubarski, Samantha (Steven) Olson, Jessican Abrahamson, Dustin and Kelsey Smith, Kaylee (Brandon) Reichel, Noelle (Konnor) Kittel, Jaden (Bella) Neubauer, Hunter Acker; three great grandchildren Kayson, Bristol, Derek and a great grandson due April-2025.
