Christopher Kasprowicz Obituary

Chris Kasprowicz, 55, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Wednesday March 25 in his home in Maple Grove, MN.

Chris was born April 6, 1964 in Crookston, MN, the youngest son of Alex “Bob” Kasprowicz and Marjorie (Durand) Kasprowicz. He attended St. Rose Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Argyle High School in 1982. He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, where he earned a B.A. in Education. Chris was united in marriage to Vera Vossen on July 31, 1993 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas, MN; they divorced in 2018. They were blessed with two children: Alex (23) and Katie (20).

Chris proudly served in the Army Reserve and traveled to Panama to rehab houses for the poor. He took night courses to become a Journeyman Electrician, and later obtained his Master Electrician License. He most recently worked at Cal-Tex Electric. A member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park, MN, Chris loved history and recently enjoyed traveling to national parks across the United States. He never missed a season of deer hunting except the year Alex was born and loved to say, “I missed deer hunting that year, but I still got my buck”. He enjoyed watching Alex play hockey and his proudest moment was guiding his son to an Eagle Scout Rank in 2015. He also loved to “skate” alongside Katie in Ice Shows and watch her compete in softball games. Chris was a humble person who will be remembered as a gentle giant.

He is survived by his children, Alex Kasprowicz (Maple Grove, MN), Katie Kasprowicz (Mankato, MN); his parents Bob and Margie Kasprowicz (Argyle, MN); brothers, Bobby Kasprowicz (Huntington Beach, CA), Todd Kasprowicz (Glendale, AZ), Troy Kasprowicz (Halma, MN); sister, Heidi (Paul) Carlson (Argyle, MN), and brother-in-law, John Keller, (Fosston, MN) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Candy Keller.
