Dale Peterson, 99, of Warren, MN, passed away on Saturday morning, September 2, 2023 at North Star Manor in Warren.
Dale William Peterson was born on July 7, 1924 in Warren, the son of Frans and Josephine (Johnson) Peterson. He was a lifelong resident of Brislet Township, Polk County, MN (rural Warren). Dale attended county school a quarter of mile from his home where he was in charge of starting the coal stove every morning before school started. He graduated from Warren High School in 1942. While attending the Red River Valley Young People's Association, Dale was introduced to a young woman by the name of Eulalie Russum from Grafton, ND through mutual friends. This began a relationship that by God's grace would flourish for a lifetime. On June 16, 1949, Dale and Eulalie were married at the Assemblies of God Church in Grafton. They made their home in Brislet Township where he farmed.
He was an active member of the Warren Covenant Church.
Dale's hobbies were farming, farming and farming. He was one of the first in the area to mow roadside ditches and it was a common sight to see Dale mowing ditches around Warren. He loved to work with plywood and metal and he was known to sort a lot of bolts in the winter. Dale was very conscious not to throw away anything that could be used on the farm. Faith, family and farming were the cornerstones of his life.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 74 years, Eulalie; sons, Dwight (Kathleen) Peterson, Dean (Eleanor) Peterson and Kevin Peterson; five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Frans and Josephine and siblings, Kenneth, Adeline and Marceline.
