Daniel Kuznia, 95, of Stephen, MN, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at North Valley Health Center in Warren, MN.
Daniel was born on December 3, 1924 in Warren, MN, the son of Peter and Agnes (Swopenski) Kuznia. He was raised in the Florian area where he attended school Daniel served in the US Army from 1944 – 1946 during WW II. He was in the 11th Airborne Division and was part of the occupation forces stationed in Japan. After his discharge, he moved to Stephen. Daniel worked for Nels Hvidsten for many years and he also worked for five years for Borowicz Construction.
He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and Stephen American Legion Post 390.
Daniel enjoyed playing cards, especially whist and pinochle and he loved to garden.
Left to mourn his passing are his brother, Matt (Geri) Kuznia of Stephen, MN; sister, Clara Yogoda of Duluth, MN and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Alozy, Frank, Roman, Eddie, Leonard, Louie, Regina, Robert and Chester.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 16, 2020 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stephen, MN. There will be a 9:45 AM Rosary. Family members have to wear a mask and social distance and there is a limit of 50 people allowed in the church.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Open to the public: 11:15 AM on Monday, November 16, 2020 at St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Stephen, MN. CDC guidelines will be followed.
MILITARY SERVICE BY: Stephen American Legion Post 390 and National Honor Guard
